Bring an old post up to date

Finds what has gone stale in an older post, shows you each change, and updates it at the same address.

My 2024 pricing guide is out of date. Fix it.

  • saddle-search-content post found
  • saddle-get-post post read
  • saddle-update-post 6 lines updated
  • saddle-list-post-revisions old version kept

Updated 6 lines. The old version is saved as a revision if you want it back.

What you get

The same post at the same address, with only the stale parts changed.

WordPress keeps the old version as a revision, so nothing is lost.

You provide

  • The post
  • What has changed since you wrote it

The prompt

My post "[post title]" is out of date. Bring it up to date without changing its address.

Read it and list everything that may be stale: prices, dates, product names, steps that no longer work, links. Ask me what is true now for each one. Do not guess.

Then show me each change as before and after. Wait for my yes.

Update the post in place. Keep its title unless I ask, keep its address, and keep the parts that are still right word for word. Add a line at the top that says when it was updated.

Confirm that WordPress saved the old version as a revision.
