Is Saddle a self-hosted version of WPVibe?
No. Both connect an AI app to WordPress, but they are built differently. WPVibe runs a hosted server that your requests pass through. Saddle has no server: your AI app connects to your site, and Saddle runs inside WordPress.
Does Saddle work with ChatGPT and Claude on the web?
Yes. Claude and most MCP apps use a key. ChatGPT needs a sign-in screen, which you turn on under Saddle, then Settings. It needs HTTPS and pretty permalinks. On ChatGPT Plus and Pro, OpenAI allows custom apps to read only.
Does Saddle limit how many requests my AI can make?
No. The free plugin has no call metering. Your AI app’s own usage limits still apply.
Is Saddle safe to use on a live site?
That is what it is built for. New sites start read-only, deletes and overwrites need a confirmation, drafts-only mode keeps new posts unpublished, and every change is logged.
